Teams are formed based on registration, requests, and league balance goals. Coaches will receive returning players, but changes may occur depending on player/parent request.

Here is our policy for team formation:

After the close of Open registration:

Returning Players:

• Players that are marked with “Return to Same Team = Yes” and with a non-blank previous team are placed back on their same team
• Players that have played on the team within the last two seasons may be considered as returning players and will be placed IF there is a spot open for them ( if all players from the prior season are returning, there may not be an opening )

Special Requests:

• Players that have marked do not return to Previous team, make sure that they are removed from their team.  These registrations typically come with a Friend request, which will go in to the 3 friend request for the team they are moving to and they will be considered according to the Friend request rules.
• Play-Up requests - any request to play up more than 1 age division must be reviewed and approved by the board.
• Friend Requests - We allow up to 3 friend requests per team, per season as long as space allows
  • Friend requests are honored in the order they are received based on registration Date and time

Building New teams:

• We identify and assign any new coaches to the team, this assists with possible friend requests for the new team.  New teams do not get an exemption from the 3 friend request!
• When possible, we work to group players who attend the same schools

Player pool:

• Looking at the teams make up, we do try and add Player pool players with teams that have existing players from the same school.  This is a guidance not necessarily a rule.

Late registrations:

• Returning players may return to their previous team only if space remains AFTER ALL Open Registrations have been placed.
• Friend requests may or may not be considered

Wait listed / Standby places:

• Players on the wait list will be rostered only after all teams have been assigned a coach.  This is done so if we have to dissolve a team, we have an opportunity to place those players that registered on time.
